"Anything that we can do to shorten the distance between performer and audience, is of value to us all."

- Opening Address,
Arts in Action Series

Sights and Sounds

I'm fortunate to continue to work with an extraordinary variety of artists; instrumentalists, singers, actors, and designers whose vision I get to help bring to an audience. It's a privilege I've shared across many media with musicians from ARCO and the symphony orchestras of Dallas, Sydney, Milwaukee, and Cleveland, as well as opera and chamber ensembles. Among recent collaborations have been those with the American composer Brad Sayles along with some of the extraordinary musicians of the Houston Symphony. More recently it's also been my privilege to conduct the Rochester Philharmonic and to get to know this ensemble, made up of some of the most deeply human, innately musical, and communicative people on the planet. Elsewhere, the stuff for Danish television was especially fun!
